Prof. Edoba Omoregie, SAN, emphasized the need for stronger interdisciplinary collaboration within the university, highlighting the central role of humanities in shaping human values, critical thinking, and national development.
The lecture, hosted by the Faculty of Arts, featured Dean Prof. Osarhieme Osadolor, former acting vice chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Prof. Osadolor’s lecture, themed “Expressing the Universal Qualities of Being Human,” further underscored the significance of humanities in understanding and appreciating the human experience.
Prof. Omoregie noted that the lecture series is part of a broader institutional vision to showcase UNIBEN’s academic strengths and expose staff and students to diverse opportunities across various disciplines.
The event served as a platform to advocate for the continued relevance of humanities in contemporary society, particularly in fostering critical thinking and ethical reasoning.
By bringing together faculty and students from different fields, UNIBEN aims to promote a more holistic and interdisciplinary approach to education and research, recognizing the vital contributions of humanities to a well-rounded understanding of the world.
