Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu (POI) has initiated strategic discussions with key figures in the Edo South Senatorial District, thereby signaling his intent to vie for the Senate seat in the approaching 2027 elections.
Integral to this endeavor, Ize-Iyamu recently pulled a gathering of the Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing the seven LGAs within the senatorial district.
Convening at an undisclosed location, the meeting became Ize-Iyamu’s avenue to articulate his senatorial aspirations to the party’s grassroots leaders.
Among those present were Chief Solomon Odemwingie (Ovia North East), Hon. Osayemwenre Osawe (Uhunmwode), Hon. Sunny Ogbewe (Ikpoba Okha), Hon. Julius Agbonze (Orhionmwon), Mr. Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe (Oredo), and Mr. Emmanuel Ogbomo (Ovia South West).
Key figures from various local governments attended the meeting, except for the chairman of Egor Local Government, who was absent due to a recent bereavement.
Ize-Iyamu underscored the pivotal role of party unity and collaboration in securing triumph in the senatorial election.
He further pledged his unwavering dedication to tackling the district’s most urgent challenges, encompassing infrastructure enhancement, employment generation, and broadened access to superior education and healthcare services.
In response, the LGA chairmen voiced their staunch support for Ize-Iyamu’s senatorial bid, affirming their resolve to galvanize party adherents and assure an unequivocally victorious campaign.
