Driven by a resolute commitment to cultivating unity, catalyzing development, and confronting the longstanding specter of political marginalization, Owan Conscience, the pan-Owan socio-cultural vanguard, recently extended its community engagement initiative, convening a town hall meeting in Edo State’s Owan East Local Government Area.
This interaction marks the third in a series of deliberate engagements, each meticulously designed to foster collaboration and accelerate progress across the Owan communities.
The town hall meetings, held most recently, brought together the communities of Arokho, Igue-Oke, and Ikao.
During these crucial sessions, elders and leaders from Owan Conscience directly engaged with local residents, holding open discussions to delve into the pertinent issues challenging the region’s prosperity.
Leading this vital delegation was Barr. Richard Ofen-Imu, the chairman of the Association, accompanied by prominent figures, including Comr Mike Igaga, Chief Richard Ehimigbai, Pst Chris Abode, Mr Patrick Omoruan, Rev. Chris Aigbokhai, Dcn Nathaniel Osamende, Chief Agbebaku Izobo, Rev Friday Asekhamen and Comr. Austine Ayeni.
These interactive sessions furnished Owan Conscience with an invaluable platform to connect intimately with the grassroots population, casting light on the intricate political landscape and the socio-economic hurdles confronting the Owan people.
Through the nurturing of dialogue and the fortification of collaborative bonds, the group seeks to empower these communities to proactively participate in sculpting their collective future, thereby surmounting the obstacles that have historically impeded their advancement.
