Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has commenced his local government consultation tour with a strategic visit to Ovia North East Local Government Area, marking the first in a series of seven stops across Edo South as part of his senatorial campaign engagements.
The visit, which took place in Okada, the administrative headquarters of the LGA, brought together party leaders, LGA executives, ward chairmen, ward executives, and members of the All Progressives Congress.
Addressing party faithful, Pastor Ize-Iyamu formally declared his intention to contest for the party’s ticket in the forthcoming primary election and appealed for their overwhelming support. He emphasized the importance of unity within the party and the need to rally behind a candidate with longstanding commitment to its growth and stability.
In a pointed appeal, he reminded members of the historical reality that Orhionmwon Local Government Area has never produced a senator, urging stakeholders to consider equity and inclusiveness in their decision-making. He stressed that supporting his aspiration would not only strengthen party cohesion but also give Orhionmwon a long-awaited opportunity for representation at the upper legislative chamber.
The visit sets the tone for what is expected to be an extensive grassroots engagement across the district as consultations continue.
