
The President of Old Students Association of Obey Olise School (OSAOOS), Comrade Iwebema Chukwuka Emmanuel has unveiled scholarship programme plan for students.
The alumni President of OSAOOS spoke yesterday at a well attended anniversary and reunion party held at Prestige hotel in Benin city.His words:”today, with the unveiling of our Scholarship programme plan,we are sowing seeds into the lives of future generations.We want to ensure that no brilliant child is denied education due to lack of funds .This is our way of giving back,not just to the school ,but to the community and the nation at large.
“To our teachers, you didn’t just teach us subjects, you shaped lives.You taught us discipline, integrity and resilience.Some of those punishments we got back then,we now realize were actually life lessons in disguise.Today,we are here for more than just a reunion.We are here to celebrate our shared memories and appreciate those who have made remarkable contributions to our school and association.
Continuing, Iwebema said,”from those dusty classrooms and open assembly grounds of our school days,we have gone out into the world and made our marks in different fields like business, education politics,arts and beyond.This school gave us the foundation that has carried us through life and we sincerely thank the current and past teachers,the true moulders of destinies “,he posited.
In a good will message, the proprietor of Obey Olise Group of Schools,Mr Morris Asuai Olise said,”i remember how i started in 1993.Schools were not really functioning well in Edo State and because i had interest in Education i decided to make it work.Today,am proud of what i have done and achieved and i thank the Alumni Association because what they did today will always be remembered because it hasn’t happened before in the history of the school”, while adding,”you have put on the light, please don’t allow it to quench.
Also speaking,the principal of the school,Mrs Vivian Okosun stated that Obey Olise is one of the thriving schools in Edo, while urging members of the alumni to continue to motivate students to reach their full potentials.
The high point of the event was award presentations to deserving individuals, currently and past teachers of Obey Olise Group of Schools.
