Senator Monday Okpebholo Promises Agribusiness Revolution
Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the September 21st election in Edo State, has asserted his ability to create opportunities across the state through agribusiness production.
In a statement on Thursday, Okpebholo emphasized his commitment to supporting agribusiness ventures, agro-processing industries, and value-added agricultural products despite current fiscal challenges in the sector. He pledged to diversify the economy and generate employment opportunities for the people of Edo State.
Okpebholo expressed optimism about promoting economic diversification and entrepreneurship, declaring his determination to transform the state through an agricultural revolution. He noted that while Edo State is rich in natural resources, support for agribusiness has been inadequate.
He promised to leverage the state’s agricultural investments and potential if elected governor. Okpebholo also highlighted his passion for empowering youth by fostering innovation and technology-driven enterprises through incubation centers, startup funding, and mentorship programs.
Speaking to our correspondent in Benin City, Okpebholo outlined his commitment to facilitating the acquisition of land titles and property rights for individuals and communities. He emphasized addressing land disputes and ensuring tenure security as key components of his manifesto.
