A frontline Edo Central Senatorial Aspirant in the forthcoming by-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. John Yakubu felicitates with Nigerian children as they commemorate this year’s Children’s Day.
Children’s Day is set aside to celebrate children and draw attention to issues affecting them.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Hon. John Yakubu and made available to journalists in Benin, Edo State capital.
The former Esan North-East Local Government Council Boss urges the authourities at all levels in the country to recognise the critical importance of issues that affect the well-being, happiness and growth of the Nigerian child and to give them priority in their plans and actions, urging parents and guardians to show love and care for every child.
According to him, “On the occasion of the celebration of 2025 Children’s Day, I Hon. John Yakubu, Edo Central PDP Senatorial Aspirant in the forthcoming Senatorial By-Election reassure the Senatorial children that by the grace of God Almighty as a Senator at the National Assembly, l will always accord their needs with full attention in my legislative duties with a view to making laws that protect and promote children’s rights.
“I also want to use the opportunity of the occasion to appeal to states that have not domesticated the Child’s Rights Act 2003 to do so in the best interest of the Nigerian Child.
“Let us all remain ever conscious of our duty to bring up our children with the right orientation and to bequeathe to them a peaceful and prosperous society.”
Hon. Yakubu wishes Edo Central children in particular and Edo State at large a happy celebration.
