Residents of Ugoniyekeikpoba in Uhunwonde local government Edo State, comprising elders of the community, have expressed appreciation to the Oba of Benjn, HRM Oba Ewuare II for restoring peace in their locality following the suspension of its Enogie.
The people and elders of Ugoniyekeikpoba at Ugonoba village expressed their appreciation during an enlarged village meeting comprising of six villages.
Speaking on behalf of the people the Ohen of Ugonoba, Ohen Otabor Airhiavbere thanked the Oba for his wisdom at restoring peace in Ugoniyekeikpoba and also to appeal to the Oba to invite
them to the Palace for them to give the details of who is supposed to be the traditional head (Enogie) of Ugoniyekeikpoba.
He alleged that the self aclaimed Enogie who is now tagged an enemy to the people, has not heed to his suspension by the Benin Monarch, thereby disobeying what the Oba has said and without showing remorse to the suspension handed to him.
Corroborating what the Ohen said Pa Aghatise Aibangbe who claimed to be the most elderly person in Ugoneki while appreciating and thanking the Oba for ensuring peace in the locality appealed to the Oba to Invite them to the Palace to get the correct information on both the enogie and Odionwere position.
“The Odionwere is forth in command in Ugoneki, which has never been heard of as the Oba has the power to direct who to be installed as Odionwere in any village when presented before him.”he said.
