The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu has extended her congratulations to Porters FC for their triumph in the UBTH Interdepartmental/Interprofessional Games Competition.
In her address to the victorious team, she praised their discipline, coordination, resilience, and organization throughout the event.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu acknowledged the players’ commitment, teamwork, and determination, emphasizing that their success was truly deserved.
She expressed her pleasure that the games fostered interaction and integration among staff from various departments and professional groups, thereby strengthening relationships beyond their usual work responsibilities.
Additionally, she commended each team member for their participation in the tournament, recognizing their dedication amidst the challenges of their demanding roles.
The CMD disclosed that in recognition of the team’s outstanding performance, the hospital management presented a cash gift of ₦500,000 to the team.
Speaking on behalf of the team, the team manager, Mr. Godfrey Osagbai Olubayo expressed gratitude to the Chief Medical Director and the management for creating a platform that encouraged participation irrespective of staff cadre.
The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the championship trophy to the Chief Medical Director and the hospital management, symbolizing the team’s appreciation for the unwavering support received throughout the competition.
