Benin City was filled with notable personalities on Friday as the Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, joined other top government officials and industry leaders to celebrate the life of the late Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa (Nee Enabulele).
The service of songs was held in honor of Madam Idahosa, mother of the Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Denis Idahosa, who passed away at the remarkable age of 95.
Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, accompanied by her husband, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was among the prominent personalities who attended the event.
The service drew a diverse gathering of individuals who came to pay their respects and offer support to the Idahosa family during this time of mourning.
Other notable attendees included Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (rtd), Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, former President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Felix Omobude, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, and former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu.
Others are, Mr. Lawrence Okah, Hon. Rasaq Bello-Osagie, Hon. Frank Okiye, Hon. Gabriel Iduseri, Barr. Vincent Uwadiae, Hon. Philip Shaibu, Senator Adams Oshiomhole among other distinguished guests.
The presence of these individuals underscored the impact and legacy of Late Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa and the high regard in which she was held within the state and beyond.
Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa died peacefully on April 8, 2026.
