The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has expressed worry for the people of Edo State, acknowledging their resilience in the face of economic hardship and insecurity.
The CRPP specifically highlighted the challenges faced by residents, particularly in Ekpoma, Edo Central Senatorial District, the senatorial district of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
In a communique released to the press in Benin, Dr. Samson Isibor, the National Chairman of CRPP, conveyed the organization’s mixed assessment of the current administration.
While acknowledging the efforts of the Okpebholo-led government, the CRPP stated that these efforts have fallen short of the expectations of the general populace.
The CRPP also addressed claims made by Governor Okpebholo regarding his performance, specifically his assertion that he is the best governor Edo has ever had and that his administration has surpassed previous ones.
The CRPP further dismissed these claims as “propaganda” and asserted that, in reality, Okpebholo is the “least performing Governor Edo has ever produced since its creation.”
“We call that a propaganda that is far from the truth. In fact, he is the least performing Governor Edo has ever produced since its creation.
“We considered Governor Okpebholo’s claim that his government has performed better than previous governments as far from the truth and cannot be substantiated.
“While not serving as mouth piece for the government of former Governor Godwin Obaseki, as we never met him for once throughout his eight years in office, we, however, make bold to say that he performed much better than Okpebholo’s administration. ” Isibor said.
The CRPP also condemned as fallacy, Governor Okpebholo’s claim that his government tolerates the opposition.
According to him, Edo people know how intolerant his government is to CRPP’s advice and criticism.
The CRPP challenged Governor Okpebholo to explain to Edo people how he plans to deliver 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the coming election in 2027, insisting that, “To us, it is nothing more than a wishful thinking, unless he plans to play political abracadabra with Edo voters. “
