Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, on Saturday, reiterated the university’s commitment to producing graduates who are both locally relevant and globally competitive.
Ezemonye spoke during the 27th Matriculation ceremony of Igbinedion University Okada( IUO), Edo State, where he urged the nearly 1,300 new students into the University to embrace academic excellence.
In his address, Prof. Ezemonye encouraged the matriculating students to pursue academic excellence and take advantage of the global opportunities offered by the university.
He highlighted the institution’s long-standing tradition of producing successful graduates in various fields, both nationally and internationally.

“We encourage you to embrace the vibrant on-campus community, where convenience, security, and opportunities for spontaneous collaboration become the foundation of your transformative university experience. ” Ezemonye said.
Ezemonye added that the institution has consistently maintained enrollment from every state, every religion, and most ethnic groups in Nigeria, making it a gathering that so perfectly embodies the cosmopolitan and inclusive spirit the varsity is known for.
“From a modest beginning, our community has grown to over 7,000 students, and what is most remarkable is not merely the number, but the rich tapestry it represents. You , the class of 2025/2026, are the latest threads in this magnificent fabric.
