The Deputy Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada, Chief Lucky Igbinedion on Tuesday, urged the 7th Governing Council of the tertiary institution to engage in meaning deliberations that reflect the university’s collective efforts at driving excellence in the academic landscape.
The Deputy Chancellor, who represented the Chancellor of the Institution, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, charged the council on accountability and excellence, saying more commitment is expected from them to surpass the achievement of the 6th Governing Council.
Igbinedion made the charge in Benin while declaring open the University’s 7th Governing Council retreat with the theme, “Driving Excellence Through A Dynamic Academic Landscape (Tramslating University Vision, Mission and Objectives To Measurable Outcomes. “
Igbinedion said the varsity is committed to academic excellence, noting that the retreat reflects the institution’s collective efforts at driving excellence in the academic landscape locally and globally.
In his speech, Vice-Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye noted that the retreat afford participants the opportunity to make their contributions to the development of the institution.
In his remark, Chairman SUNU Assurances Plc, Mr. Kyari Abba Bukar, who spoke virtually, emphasized the need to improve digital literary saying, “We need to integrate digital platforms to blended learning.”
Whike advocating the need to create a culture of excellence, Bukar charged all to work in the spirit of renewed commitment to drive academic excellence at Igbinedion University Okada.
Other speakers at the retreat include Dr. Aisha Laruba Abdullahi, who spoke on the topic, “Elevating the University’s Visibility beyond Borders: Breaking barriers and exploring global perspectives.” and former Vice Chancellor, Chrisland University, Prof. (Mrs) Chinedum Peace Babalola, who also spoke on the topic ” Synergy for Success: An imperative for Council-Management Collaboration (Facing the future together).
Members at the 7th Council Retreat were the Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University Okada, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of IUO Council, Prof. Ahmed Tijani Mora, Deputy Chairman of Council, Dr. Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan SAN, Prof. (Mrs) Chinedum Peace Babalola, among others.
The retreat climaxed with the presentation of certificates to participants .
