Niger Delta Initiative has launched a digital skills training program for women and youths in ten northern Nigerian states, in collaboration with Women Our Voice Our Votes (WOVOV).
Addressing newsmen, Dr. Akpoguma Okuoimose, Chairperson and CEO of Niger Delta Initiative, announced the initiative, which is also in partnership with STEM Africa and WOVOV Venture.
According to the CEO, the programme aims to equip participants with essential technological skills, enhancing their prospects in the digital economy.
Dr. Okuoimose stressed her dedication to expanding access to quality digital education for young women adding that the training, an initiative of the Niger Delta Initiative in collaboration with STEM Africa and WOVOV Venture, continued to equip the participants with the digital literacy required for emerging opportunities in today’s tech-driven world.
Dr. Okuoimose reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to delivering inclusive and accessible digital education across Northern Nigeria.
The Niger Delta Initiative, in partnership with STEM Africa and WOVOV Venture, also launched its digital skills training programme for young women in Gombe State with several centres were activity and vibrant participants commenced their learning journey, gaining essential technological skills that will position them for opportunities in the fast-growing digital economy.
She emphasized that expanding digital access for young women goes beyond a project. It is a transformative mission. She reiterated that empowering young women with practical, in-demand tech skills that will promote inclusivity and strengthen the economic foundation of communities nationwide.
She explained that the initiative took a bold step forward as it rolled out its digital skills training programme for young women in Kebbi State.
“In various centres, participants were captured in high-spirits as they continued hands-on sessions facilitated by experienced trainers”.
Multiple centres came alive with energy as participants began their journey into the world of technology, learning the tools and competencies that will shape their place in the emerging digital economy.
