The University of Benin Teaching Hospital’s (UBTH) police post has received a Facelift under the leadership of Prof. (Mrs) Idia Ize-Iyamu, equipping it with modern facilities to reduce crime within the hospital community.
Thanks to the intervention of the UBTH Chief Medical Director, Prof. (Mrs) Idia Ize-Iyamu.
The previously non-functional police post now boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including air-conditioned offices, a 24-hour power supply, modern cells, and convenience.
This upgrade promises to significantly reduce crime and enhance security for the entire hospital community.
Formerly dilapidated and largely inoperative, the outpost, situated within the hospital, has been subjected to extensive refurbishment and modernization.
Prior to the current UBTH administration’s proactive measures, the police station was in a considerable state of neglect, thereby impeding its functional capacity.
This comprehensive upgrade is anticipated to substantially fortify security protocols, aiding in the reduction of crime and the preservation of order both within the hospital and its immediate environs. Consequently, a more secure atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors is envisioned.
The revitalized UBTH Police Post now features cutting-edge amenities and purpose-built to amplify its operational effectiveness.
These advancements encompass climate-controlled offices for personnel, a dependable uninterrupted power supply, contemporary detention cells, and improved essential facilities. Such enhancements are poised to improve the working environment for the police officers assigned to the post, empowering them to more effectively serve the UBTH community.
