The Director-General of the Edo State Directorate of Education Quality and Accountability (DEQA), Dr. Amen Ogbemudia, has commended the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his exemplary display of fairness, empathy, and integrity in handling the ongoing demolition and development projects in the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Dr. Ogbemudia, speaking on behalf of her sister and the entire Ogbemudia family, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for his thoughtful gesture of ensuring compensation was duly paid before the commencement of the demolition exercise.
According to her, the Governor’s actions reflect a rare blend of justice and compassion, underscoring his commitment to governance that prioritizes the welfare of citizens.
“Long before the demolition exercise, His Excellency, in his usual spirit of fairness and empathy, ensured that compensation was duly paid. This thoughtful act reflects a leader who governs with both heart and integrity,” she stated.
Dr. Ogbemudia noted that the family was deeply touched by the Governor’s humane approach and unwavering commitment to the people, adding that Edo State is fortunate to have a leader who embodies humility, vision, and kindness in leadership.
She further clarified that her late father, Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, envisioned the dualization of Sapele Road when it was first constructed a dream, she said, that is now being realized under the purposeful leadership of Governor Okpebholo.
“My late father created Sapele Road with the dream of a dual carriageway in mind a vision of progress and beauty for a greater Edo. Today, that vision is being fulfilled in a noble way, and I have no doubt he would be proud,” she added.
Dr. Ogbemudia reaffirmed the family’s respect and high regard for Governor Okpebholo, describing him as a leader guided by fairness, humility, and a genuine desire to serve.
She concluded by praying for God’s continued grace, wisdom, and strength for the Governor as he continues to “build Edo with a heart that truly cares.”
