
Nosakhare College of Education in Edo State has churned out 79 graduates with a charge for the graduating students to deliver world-class teachers’ education to develop the nation’s education landscape.
Speaking during the Maiden convocation ceremony of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions and Award of certificates and fellowship investiture in Benin, Provost of Nosakhare College of Education, Dr. Mercy Omobude said that the Nosakhare College of Education is a center of excellence.
Omobude said the Maiden Convocation is a milestone in the history of the privately own institution founded by a business mogul and educationist Elder Nosakhare Eghobamien.
The Provost, Nosakhare College of Education, noted that the institution has had full accreditation since inception.
“Today, we celebrate the academic achievements of our students from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions and honor exceptional individuals who embody and exemplify the values of service, excellence, and leadership.
“Nosakhare College of Education received provisional approval from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) on the 12th of December, 2019 to run courses that lead to the award of the National Certificate of Education (NCE).
“Academic activities formally commenced in the 2020/2021 session with 60 pioneering students. These courageous individuals believed in a new institution amid global uncertainty. In the following academic session, 15 more students joined, and together, they formed a firm academic and cultural foundation.”
She appreciated the President/ Founder, Elder Nosakhare Eghobamien, for his dogged and indefatigable spirit and foresight, which is translating to the success story of the institution.
” We appreciate your investment, commitment, and support. I want to sincerely appreciate our dedicated staff, whose tireless efforts have brought us to this glorious moment.” Omobude said.
In his speech, President and Founder, Nosakhare College of Education, Elder Nosakhare Eghobamien, who wished the graduating students the best as they go into the society, said they have been trained to contribute their quota to national development.
The first convocation ceremony of Nosakhare College of Education climaxed with the presentation of awards to distinguished Nigerians who include the wife of the founder and president of LAPO, Mrs. Ngozi Elizabeth Ehigiamusoe and Dr. Clement Alile, among others.
Delivering the institution’s first convocation lecture titled, “Teacher Education in a changing world,” Dr. Hezekiah Alonge, in the Department of Education Management, University of Benin (UNIBEN), said teachers are key in the promotion of our value system.
