Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has indefinitely suspended the Emir of Daware, Hassan Ja’afaru.
Ja’afaru, who previously served as the district head of Daware in Fufore Local Government Area, was found guilty of corruption, maladministration, breach of security, and other serious offences following an investigation.
The suspension was conveyed in a letter dated April 25, 2025, signed by the Permanent Secretary for Chieftaincy Affairs, Adama Mamman.
He directed the embattled traditional ruler to immediately hand over all government properties in his possession to the secretary of the district pending further action.
“Following a series of complaints made against you for maladministration, corruption, breach of security, confiscation of farmlands, and creating a vacuum that has left traditional matters unattended due to your absence from your domain, I am therefore directed by the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, to suspend you from office indefinitely,” he said.
