The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has directed Chief Odion Olaye , the Edo state chairman of the Nigeria Labour congress to mobilise and inform all affiliate Union Bodies to make independent arrangements to commemorate 2025 May Day in their various union offices in Edo state.
In a letter signed by the Deputy National Secretary of the NLC, Comrade lsmail Bello and dated 22 April, 2025, which was made available to journalists in Benin City, said efforts have been put in place to resolve the ongoing crises of the Edo state council of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Congress urged members to ensure a hitch free 2025 May Day Celebration.
This year’s theme of May Day is titled “Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of economic hardship”.
Adding that, “all the 36 NLC councils across Nigeria are expected to actively participate in the May Day event which is due for 1st May, 2025.”
Chief Odion Olaye has however wished all workers in Edo state a successful May Day outing.
