No fewer than 152 Nursing graduates have successfully graduated from Igbinedion University Okada following years of rigorous academic training at the 11th Professional Oath-Taking/Induction Ceremony held on Friday.
Ag. Head, Department of Nursing Science, Igbinedion University Okada, Dr. (Mrs) Veronica Ugeh disclosed this to newsmen during the institution’s 11th Professional Oath-Taking/Induction Ceremony of Bachelor of Nursing Science (BN.SC.) Graduates.
According to Ugeh, these graduates are now qualified professionals ready to provide essential care.
She charged the new nurses with their core responsibility to prioritize the health and happiness of their patients, urging them to uphold the values of the nursing profession.
She said, “we have led you to a stage that you can now stand for yourself as competent nurses. As nurses , always remember you are there to make patients healthy and happy.”
On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raphael Adeghe urged the inductees to discharge their responsibilities professionally.
Ezemonye expressed the institution’s support for the graduating nurses and underscored the importance of their role in society.
Dr. Ndagi Al-hassan, Registrar/CEO Nursing And Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), represented by Dr. (Mrs) Dorothy Nkiruka performed the induction.
Others who graced the event include Prof. (Mrs) Roselyn Esewe of the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, University of Benin (UNIBEN), who delivered the induction lecture entitled, “The Competent Nurse: Adding Value To Patient are Through Best Practices. “
The ceremony highlighted Igbinedion University’s commitment to producing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals who will contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities.
